Julie Hawke — Centre Coordinator
I consider myself a local girl as I have lived in Kal since 1984. I married a true blue local boy and we have three amazing children all born here. I spend my spare time with my family and enjoy working with youth, especially in sport. I have been at the GWHCC since May 2008 after spending the past 20 years working with the Goldfields community in sporting programs. The most rewarding part of my role is meeting women from all walks of life who share their stories and put their trust in me to direct them to the most appropriate help. The team here is amazing. Not a day goes by where I dont look forward to coming to work. Everyone is friendly and makes it a daily priority to ensure that every client and staff member has a rewarding experience every day.

Rhea Wholey — Full Time Administration Officer
I am originally from New Zealand, but left to travel when I was 21 years old. My kiwi accent is still very strong and I sound like I just got off the boat! I married a fellow kiwi and now we are aussie citizens and call Kalgoorlie home. Our 2 boys were born here and we have been in Kalgoorlie for over 12 years now and love it. We especially love the friendly people. My husband has just completed his first Marathon and in April 09 achieved his goal of completing the historic Kokoda trail. I have a true love of Photography and enjoy capturing special memories of people at their happiest.

Cath Hakanson — WACHS Community Nurse
I have been back in Kalgoorlie since 2003. This time with a family, so it is a different Kalgoorlie to the one I first experienced in the mid 90's.
The joy of motherhood was that I could stop being a 'wage slave' and start doing what I had always dreamed of ie talking sex for a living! Kalgoorlie and Women's Health have been good to me, mainly because they have allowed me to start living that dream.
So life is pretty good at the moment. I am enjoying my children whilst they let me, our renovating (house number 8) is almost finished, my 'sex clinic' research project is cranking along, work is still fun, I meet some amazing clients, and mange to somehow squeeze time in for my partner and patchwork!

Katie Northam — Goldfields Esperance GP Network Dietician
I’m originally from NSW and conducted my nutrition and dietetics training at the University of Newcastle. I came over to Kalgoorlie at the beginning of 2009 and since then have enjoyed both the professional and social benefits of working and living in this close-knit community.
I have a passion for food which was sparked by my mother, who is a fabulous cook! She taught me that healthy food can be tasty food. The best part of my job is seeing patients come back to review appointments happier and healthier since implementing new healthy lifestyle practices.
Since moving to Kalgoorlie, I have immersed myself in sport (especially netball) and have checked out many of the local gymnasiums, walking/cycling tracks and physical activity groups. These experiences also help me to provide patients with advice regarding the most suitable type of physical activity for them, based on their own individual needs and circumstances.
I’ve been working with the lovely ladies of the Women’s Health Care Centre since the beginning of this year and I thoroughly look forward to my monthly clinic day here. The staff are welcoming and supportive to their fellow colleagues and treat their patients with the same warmth and respect.
